Summer of 2025

Off-Season Hoops was thrilled to once again partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence for a fourth summer. In July, we offered a three day academic and basketball clinic for over forty girls from the Club. On Monday, there was a full agenda of basketball activities including skill development stations, games, and fun activities with prizes. The girls also had the opportunity to spend time with Coach Carrie Moore and the Harvard University Women's Basketball Staff. On Tuesday, the girls took a road trip. In the morning, the girls got a private tour of the Channel 5 News station thanks to Brittany Johnson (Channel 5 Investigative Reporter).  They got a behind the scenes look at how the the television broadcasts take place.  After a pizza lunch, the girls took a bus into Boston and got a private tour of the TD Garden. They toured the executive offices of the Boston Celtics and met with top women executives in the organization.  Kash Cannon (Boston Celtics Director Community Programming) and Siobhan Sherbovich (Boston Bruins Director of Corporate Partnerships) were instrumental in making the day happen. On Wednesday, the girls spent the day on the UMASS Boston campus thanks to Dr. Joseph Cooper (UMass Boston Sports Leadership).  Coach Heather Jacobs (UMB Women's BBall Coach) also spent time in the gym with the girls.  To top off the day, the girls were again treated to a special ice cream treat thanks to a donation from Ben & Jerry's.
